2 second gap saved me
always leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you. today on my ride home from work.......you know the ride ive done about 500 times by now, any way i was about 50 feet behind the guy in front of me as we were doing about 45mph, always looking ahead i notice a car not stopping coming the opposite direction as us in his left turn lane about to turn into the guy in front of me and he does turn right in front of him like he wasnt there and BOOM! they nail each other and i had to decide immediately which way 2 swerve and luckily i swerved left into the on coming lane with my rear locked and sliding the whole way, still had control though she wasnt slowing as fast as i would like,... thank god no traffic in that lane. the wreck was moving to the right so i had to swerve left. the guy that got hit was messed up pretty bad and had blood all over the front of him and his passenger, she didnt look too much better. the guy who ran the light was ok but i think his girl might have been injured. the guy who ran the light looked to be abt 18 and said to him, didnt u see that red light right there as i pointed to it? and he said he thought it was a yield. holy crap, if u think its a yield then hey, guess what FREAKING YIELD! dont pull out in front of someone thats doing 45mph and expect him to stop in 2 feet. anyway i know that if i was the vehicle that was there in front of me i might not be writng this right now. always look ahead and see accidents b4 they happen. b safe everyone, i dont want to see any R.I.PS. here. a couple pics.

Great thinking, quick response, and some luck really saved your butt there! If cagers were only forced to ride a motorcycle for at least a month, and deal with other idio cagers, they would have to think while they were on the road. And we would definitely have way fewer accidents because of it.
Glad you're alright.

Great post, man. It pays to remember the 12 second rule as well. Try to look and plan at least 12 seconds ahead. You have excellent situational awareness (SA) and reactions -good job and I'm glad you are o.k. I'm dissappointed that you didn't get any pics of the bloody victims, though.
I'm also diggin' your avatar, heh heh.
