I ran my pumper with an open air box 140 MJ and stock exhaust for awhile last winter. There is a bit more low endgrunt with the stock exhaustcoupled withimproved jetting/air intake, but, overall, it doesn't rev-out or accelerate anywhere near as well as when I bolted on the aftermarket exhaust.I think slip-ons strike a nice balancethough. You can pick-up about 2.5hp while retaining some of the low grunt of the stock system.

OBTW,Idid another dyno run with a different shop after going tosummer jetting. Say hello to thefirst to break the 30HP barrier with 250cc... 30.6 to be exact.Match that withaBigGun. Seriously though, I think it's more the carb/pipe combo combined with a bike thatmust have rolled off the assembly line while all of the planets were alignedor someother freak occurance Both dyno operatorslooked at the numbers and shook their heads. Neither have seen more than 24hp come fromaKLX with stockengine, butI won't complain. It's got a crazy take-off whenyou launch it from a standing start in second gear. I have a feelingthat going big bore will widen the power band, but it won'tincrease the peak HP much on mybike.

Not to mention your sticky street tires either. All other dyno runs, that I know of were still with DS tires....albeit steet biased and one was a full on knobby. Congrats, btw I love the look/sound of your combo.

So what elevation are you at JB1?
about 150ft

Have you checked the plug to see if its lean?
plug is fine

If I kept the stock pilot but went with a larger mainjet would there be a problem?
That would be fine, alot of members run the stock pilot, although once you have it all apart why not change it.

I already have the n1tc needle...
what notch is the clip on?

Yep, I'm sure the pure street tires factor in. Speaking of tires, I wasgonna show-off a bit by riding a wheelie out of the the dealer's parking lot today, but suddenly felt like I was Hayden in a supermoto turn. The rear end darn near came out from under me. My dumb azz didn't stop and think that I shouldn't be doing thatafterhe had just installed a new rear tire! I'm sure he got a good laugh out of it.Must've looked pretty spectacular.

I'm waiting on a call back from FSW as I write this. I've been holding on to a Q2 for a few months now debating whether I'll use it. I am going to try to get a straight answer on whether their head pipe will work. I don't want to have to do any modifications after spending $150 + for the head pipe. I'll update this thread with what I find out from them.

I will say that when I dry fit the Q2 on my bike the only issues I noticed was the obvious fit issues with the stock head pipe. Other than that it seemed to fit fine.

Regarding the p-3 quiet tip, did you, or anyone else notice any power drop with that? I recently installed the 2 Bros slip on and this thing is pretty loud, probably should install one of the quiet tips. I resorted to ear plugs, which I hated for not being able to hear traffic / emergency vehicles, etc.

Ha ha, maybe...

Would be fun to have the cash to try all the options before settling on one of these. Noise, performance, aesthetics, $, leadtime, etc. I am certainly satisfied with the perf and looks of this unit. I took a little video clip for the sound of it if anyone is interested. Similar to the one on YouTube.

The tips actually give it more back pressure so it feels stronger in lower gears.
