Clay is a tire's worst enemy....it takes alot of wheel rpm's to clean and clay don't let go that easy. If your not going to ride on the road I'd go full ****. They do make variations of some tires for the surface your on. How well did the other bikes do in the clay?tires?

the Trackmaster II's are a decent tire. I get under a thousand miles on a rear with minimal street use but the tires are pretty cheap so I think it's worth it.

+1 on the Trackmaster II's. They're not so good on the street but they're a really great off road tire. I bought one for my KLX but since I use the KLX as a commuter bike I took the tire off the KLX and put it on my KDX200. The Trackmaster performed much better on the KDX than the existing Dunlop which had alot of life still left on it.

One more thing... Here's the tire I ordered today. The tire in my desired size was back-ordered for quite some time so I'm happy to finally have it being shipped. It's a Pirelli Scorpion XCMH 110-100. A 100-100 is too small and doesn't offer the traction the bike deserves for its weight but a 120 would be a bit to big for a stock KLX when considering street accelleration with a stock 14 tooth front sprocket IMHO.

I've looked over countless tires to find a satisfactory compromise between on/off road tires that are DOT certified. Hopefully this tire will be the best match. Below is a pic of a Pirelli XCMH front tire that I bought awhile ago but was waiting to install for this season although it looks to be a bit too aggressive for the street, only one way to find out... Also, I have included a link to a pic of the 110-100 XCMH rear tire so you can get an idea of the tread pattern. It's not as aggressive as the Trackmaster but also not as close and restrictive a tread patter as the Kenda K270's or the stocker. The stocker is indeed crap.

drop your pressure when you go offroad, make sure you have a rim lock in the back and leave the valve nut loose. learnt the hard way
