'18 KLX250 mod suggestions

My 07 is a little taller from the factory so that helps. Nobody makes lowered pegs (at least not the last time I checked). Guts sold me tall seat foam and cover, that helps a LOT. I have an inch bar riser on mine and rotated them forward a bit more than stock.

I swapped out the front sprocket, dropped one tooth, huge help on and off road. also swapped the exhaust with a SS70 9" Stainless Steel Oval Muffler to fit KLX250 (2009-2016). A perfect fix and includes the O2 bunghole! A littel loulder then I would like noteable power increase. Delkevic has longer units which migh muffle a bit better but I was looking for max power and the least weight.
Next im going to order a Chinese power bomb knockoff to tone down the noise and hopefully get a little more bottom end grunt.
I’m running the stock fueling, no map/fuel mods with super results. Finally I can pull wheelies!

awesome guys thanks so much! definitely gonna check out all the links appreciate it.
and as to why i went with the klx over the wr, the dealer had both in stock, its just i figured
1) wr is $2500 more (canada)
2) im not good enough off road to notice the difference between the 2
3) im big enough guy that either bike i would be spending money upgrading the suspension, so extra $ for the wr's better factory suspension would be a waste
4) the camo just looks fkin sexy
all in all spending the extra cash felt like it would be pointless for me

+1 on the going down one tooth on the front. This and this make it way easier.
- Do the clutch switch Mod ASAP. that's the best 5 cents you can spend to boost power.
- I also added Pro Taper Contours CR High Bend which look way better and are supposed to hold up better in a crash. Getting them to fit takes a little fiddling.
- Doing the bars I upgraded the grips as well to Pro Grip Dual Sport Gel grips - much more plush feel.
- IMS Pro Series Pegs. The stock pegs are too skinny for offroading with big boots.

Hey guys. I just bought a 2018 last week. I'm in the United States and was wondering if our model needs the clutch mod. I only have 8 miles on it so far so I'm trying not to dog on it too much until I get a few more miles on it. I didn't d take it up to 8,500 rpm in 4 th today. Does this mean ours is not restricted? Thanks.

i dont think ours are restricted, at least in the lower gears.
have been over 7,500 rpm no problems
also this looks to be a video of a bone stock 2018 going over 11k rpm and 147kmph (indicated) no problems

Cool! Thanks Oso! I have only ridden mine to and from work 2 times and it's 35 and 45mph so haven't really has a chance to try it out too much. Hopefully tomorrow I will get to put some miles on it. Now to figure out what exhaust to buy. lol. Still trying to decide between doing one with an o2 bung or one without and use an o2 eliminator.

Looked like it was topping out at 160! Pretty impressive compared to what we got in '09.
Anyone slip in a bill blue big bore/exhaust system already?
