Hey Guys, along with boots, knee and elbow guards, riding pants, and a couple of jersey's I picked up a 13 tooth sprocket. It is made by JT and the part number is JTF565.13 Is this the right one for my bike? And also someone mentioned a spacer, they didn't know what I was talking about, or said something like I might be able to get a off the shelf spacer?? Not sure what that was all about. Anyway, does someone have a source or a picture of the spacer? Thanks in advance. Oh I found a 2005 KLX110 for $1900.00 and the KLX 125 for $2300.00. But I still haven't convinced the wife yet, but I'll keep working on it LOL.

Deej, what are you doing? The JTF565 will require a spacer. SCAT what size spacer did you get? Deej, JTF516.13 is the one with the factory style shoulder. The PBI PO45-13 PRO, in the first post is a more popular brand. WHACK! I just slapped your hand. I'm glad you got some gear though.[sm=happy046.gif]

Sorry Guys if I sound frustrated, but this whole sprocket thing is ridiculous. The part numbers are not matching anything I search for, the JT site doesn't list the JTF516.13 and I googled the PBI PO45-13 PRO and zip nothing, How about we start all over with someone sending me a link right to the part on a site that I can order from. Oh by the way the JT site has like 800 sprockets, why can't things be easier? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.[:-]

Deej I want to beat your parts guy!!!,unfortunately the 13t is not an OEM part, which makes it hard to find. I will talk to the gang at dual-star tomorrow and make sure they can send you one. They have the PBI brand. I am supposed to make a wish list of parts for the KLX250S that they can start to stock, any requests from the forum? Any way I'll post before noon, my findings and should have a part# for easy on-line ordering.

Deej - Don't get frustrated. Every sprocket company uses their own part numbers. I found one by blind luck because even knowledgable parts guys can't always cross reference between different companys, especially when the bike in question is not listed. However, if you tell them to order a PBI PO45-13, they should be able to find it in one of their parts books that stocks that brand. Tony's also listed a couple of others makers and their part numbers. I can also tell you that Sprocket Specialists 564-13 will fit even though it's designed for a XR650L

Tony - Please be sure to tell your contact at Dual Star that the Brake! brand LED tail light they sell for the KLR650 also fits our bike. As for other parts, I'd like to see them carry the CRD brand skid plate, Works Connection rad braces, the IMS or Acerbis tanks, and IMS footpegs.

Hey Guys, The spacer i used is 105 thousands in thickness the dealer supplied me with three 35 thousands spacers these spacers are used all the time by the dealer they are installed on several different application, there are 2 diiferent styles one large diameter for large counter shafts and one for small counter shafts we have the small they slide onto are shafts nice and snug once i knew this was going to work i had a friend machine me a solid spacer.
The PBI po45-13 also crosses to a 50045-13 also made by PBI. Hope this helps

Default Thoughts on sprockets

Hmm...I installed the 13t sprocket I found over the weekend and road around 25 miles on the street and a bit off road yesterday. I must say that the new gearing feels spot on.

However, there is a downside that's got me a bit concerned. The increased chain noise is very noticable and it bugs the heck out of me. I noticed the same thing on other bikes when giving up the OEM C/S sprocket with the rubber damping. It just seems so much louder on this bike since the chain is more exposed and the bike is so quiet otherwise. I'm thinking I may put the OEM sprocket back on and go with a 45t rear sprocket. That would be almost the same ratio (3.21 vs. 3.23) but I'm not sure if the stock chain will work on a 14/45 combo?

14/45 will not work with the stock chain. I took one link out of a 110, so 109link. If you have your ear plugs in you won't hear the sprocket. You may be able to use the stock chain for 13/45, I haven't checked yet.

Chains make noise, government take taxes and thats the way it is. After a hundred miles you probably won't even notice. [8D]
