Default 13T sprocket

I've heard some really good comments about changing the front drive sprocket to 13t. I think the stock version is 14t? Would this change be a noticeable difference in power or do I need to do all the other intake, exhaust, carb., etc. mods also to make a significant change? Don't get me wrong I love the new bike and it seems to have enough power. It's gearing is a little high for the tight Georgia mountain trails though. I see Kawasaki also is offering three rear sprockets on their website now, any comments?

Front sprockets are pretty cheap, and you don't need a longer chain, so it's worth a try if you find that 1st and 2nd gear are too tall on tight trails. It's not magic. It also closes up all of your gear ratios, and the bike will rev higher at crusing speeds on the street. The difference between 13 & 14 is about 8%, so your RPM's will be approx 8% higher in each gear at a given speed. So where you were at 3000 RPM in 1st gear, you'll now be at around 3250. At 8000RPM, you'll be at 8650. More improtantly, you'll have 8% more mechnical advanatage. It will be easier to pick up the front end to clear obstacles, and climb steep grades. It will also save your clutch.

I'm going to wait and see before making and gearing changes.

Thanks for the info, it sounds like a nice improvement. I will probably wait for a few more miles also before I do any mods. Let me know what you think you would do to you're new bike after you get some miles on it if you don't mind.

I ordered a Suntour 13T sprocket tonight.... along with the larger snorkel, and other parts recommended for the low cost power boost. I'll wait on the 45 rear sprocket, until after all the other mods are finished. I also did the crankcase breather modification. I "hand drilled" the 3/8" hole. It was tedious, but easier than removing the airbox. It supposed to warm-up here Tuesday, we'll see how well that mod alone works then.

Bad news I think. Can anyone tell me if the pbi po50-13 sprocket will work on our bike. The dealer sent me this instead of the po45-13 that i ordered. Is there that much difference to them or do I need to send it back and start over???
