This thread reminded me what I need to do now. Intall the 12v power point on the KLX. I very much like Deej's setup. So if he could share on what parts he got, that would be awsome.

I got the socket at the local auto parts store and the mount is actually a CB antenna mount.

Awesome.. what did you use to wire it?
(gauge of wire, fuse, etc?)

As you can see I'm pretty clueless..

What kind of heated grips does everyone run on their klx's? I'd like to get some. Also interested in doing a cigarette lighter hook up for a GPS when I get one. What GPS's are good for doin offroading and long trips? I think I might have to look into LED turn signals and tail light to give the bike some extra room for more electrical gadget hook ups. I'd like to ride this thing in the cold.

@BleednGreen68, I run the Oxford heated grips, not the velcro kind, but the kind with the integral elements molded right into the grips. If your budget can tolerate them, I'd recommend them. They are high quality with a smart controller that has 4 settings.
They they have hit the dirt several times (hard enough to bend the bars) yet the grips are still fine. The only modification I made to the wiring instructions was that I tapped into a switched power source so that they are not on if the ignition is not also on. They keep me warm down to -15C...

Thanks for the info! I will check them out. Do you have a heated vest or anything else for the cold? I used to have heated gloves but they quite workin. They were made by widder. Lots of good yrs out of them. Even hooked them up on my atv when i was plowin snow. Worked awesome!
