Default 09 rubber gromets in seat and side covers

Do you guys have them? I thought I was supposed to have them, but I don't. I think it'd help with seat vibrations a little.

I have them on my H7. Siliconed them and the washer to the side panels so they don't fall off every time I remove the seat. PITA when your on the trail.

Yeah I think the previous owner just lost them or whatever. That's a good idea gluing them in. Think I'll try and pick some up when I go find my sprocket cover bolt!

Yeah. . . definite design defect. . . just like that stupid shift lever that sticks out so far that you can't help but step on it (causing sudden, unexpected down-shifts) when you're on the pegs! Can't believe THAT got past Kawasaki's testing. . . . can't believe no one has come up with a better shift lever for that matter! If I was a fabricator, I'd be selling all you guys new, better-designed shift levers and getting ready for retirement!

no rubber grommets on my '09, and it's untouched. the shifter design is decades old and as far as I remember, is no different than my 2-stroke KX racebikes. a non-issue for me and the rest of this forum as you're the first to mention it.
btw, no rubber grommets on my '06 either.

+1 on the shifter, not an issue for me either.
Your 06 didn't have the little rubber grommets on the rear side plate/seat hold-down? It should have.

Okay, I apologize. I just went and checked and I do have the rubber 'grommets' between both sides of the sidepanels' boltholes. Sorry about that. I was thinking of a rubber plug that snapped together once the panel was in place.

My 07 has them, and I siliconed mine together also. Definitely were a pain when putting the sides on.

I second the shifter is awkward, maybe its my size 12 boots, but its in the way. I've been thinking about making one thats tighter to the case, probally over the winter when I have it apart I will try a few ideas.
Now what about the pegs, is it me or are they placed different? Seems like the left is farther away then the right? It dont feel right down there.

yeah, the pegs are not equally apart from the cases. the '09 got repositioned pegs as one of it's changes.
