Let us know how it works out, I don't see how the tool bag will work with it though.

I'm no expert on Ventura racks and I won't be buying mine til Feb, but after looking at the vids on their site, I think the idea is that the L Brackets(ie the base of the system for the 3 rack types) lock onto the frame under the rear mudguard and have absolutely nothing to do with the tool bag brackets. Don't know for sure though. How the L brackets attach will be one question I will be asking them prior to purchase!

I keep a lot of things in it depending on the ride. Around town I put the mail in it from the post office, and well a few other things once in a while. For example.

An 8 piece box of chicken.
