'09 KLx250S Part Out - Need Anything?
I have a chance to pick up an '09 with a bent frame. Less than 10K miles, complete bike less frame. Forks and wheels appear to be intact and not bent, but I would have to inspect more closely. Value of engine? Located in N. Florida. BTW, I have an '07 and need very little from the bike that will work on my older bike.
Edit to list parts available:
Complete running engine
Console/instrument panel
Starter
Ignition switch/gas cap lock/helmet lock/key
Forks/triple clamps
Cables
Right side radiator
Radiator hoses
Wiring harness
Other misc pieces, just ask
Already gone:
Carb
Wheels/tires
Plastics
Front rotor
Seat
Frame
Rear brake caliper/master cylinder
Rear shock
Dog bone suspension links
Coil/coil wire

Just read a recent part out thread and thought I would add the following: clean title iwould be available for this bike if anyone would like to see a copy. I could post the VIN befor selling any parts as well. Also, radiator is also damaged and not available. Other plastics look OK (Green). Lastly, I would only be interested in selling the engine intact since it is running.

If you are intent on parting out, OK. but you should know that there are any number of places which can straighten out a bent frame to within factory specs. And with a bike which can barely reach legal highway speeds a little frame tweak is inconsequential. Contrary to popular belief even with a crotch rocket a bent frame is not necessarily a death sentence -- as long as it's not completely wadded up, of course. I can't believe a KLX ever got going fast enough to cause really extensive frame damage.
There's a guy here in Sacramento who straightens frames for less than $200 (he told me a couple of years ago when I had a wheel straightened there). If you got the bike cheaply enough it might be worth looking into it where you live.

"And with a bike which can barely reach legal highway speeds"..
Hey Anciano, if your bike can't get to at least 85mph, you have more work to do..Mine does 91mph before the tires start bouncing.
