I think it will be FI. Mine is 2009 from the uk.

One of these bad boys should be an easy fix if your bike is running too lean,

TNC mate fair one I do agree, but in my defence I've had this bike only a few days and I don't now much about this bike yet as I have no manual or anything, all my other on/off road bikes DRZ400 XR 400 have all been carb so wrongly I assumed this did with out really looking.

Assumption is the mother of all fxxk up's..

As always thanks

I bought one to. They have the stock exhaust with the guts and baffle removed. Mine is the same, it backfires when cold due to the fuel enrichment from the ECU until it is warm (auto choke). After it's warm it runs fine. It will also hunt a little when cold due to the same. Have you had it out for a blast, and how dose it run when warm?

Share the link to the ECU fault as you say it may be an interesting read. These bikes had the Kawasaki mods done which included water ingress in the ECU!

All docs are sent off, however DVLA sent them back on Monday as I forgot to send a copy of my licence. It's a bit of a pain to get the paperwork required but it's done now, should have reg plate by next week as the original paperwork was processed in 2 days.

You will also need a letter from kawasaki to prove the age of the bike or you will get a Q plate, this has a cost of £55
