Which '09 Aftermarket pipe is best?
I've seen alot of nice looking pipes here, but don't know how they perform. All of themhave to bebetter than the stock pipe for breathing as the stocker sounds like a sewing machine.
For bling IMO the best looking are the Two Brothers and the Big Gun.Also availableare FMF, HMF, Muzzy, there are others I don't recall at the moment.
Asking anyone who has one on their bike for input, any negative issues w/ these pipes? Other than price...
Thanks Mike

The KLX-300 stock parts work pretty darn good and only cost ~$90 plus the hassle of rejetting. The $400 saved will get you half way to a 331cc upgrade.

No camcorder so, I can't do that for you. The sound isn't too bad but, it is louder. I'm also moving a lot more air through the whole system now with the airbox lid off. The KLX-300 option is pretty low risk. If you buy one and don't like it, you're going to get most of your money back when you resell it (minus shipping). I got mine that way and I'm very happy with the low cost and performance improvement.
At idle, you can hear the "pop" when it fires but it's not too hard on the ears. Rolling down the road at ~45MPH I hear more road howl from the Dunlop 606 with the exhaust note being about the same level with deeper tone.

he's right about the oem 300 system. also, if you remove the buttplug from the 300 muffler, it will be a lot louder but not BG or Muzzy loud. but the bad thing about the 300 stuff or just a slip-on, you're still stuck with the puny oem header if you ever want to do a big-bore which calls for a full-system to breathe adequately. the 300 header and the 250S header are the same in diameter so no performance gains there if you're wondering. the 300 muffler makes good power as it doesn't have the catalytic converter but it still is pretty heavy compared to aftermarket. I have had BG full and now a Muzzy full (I've had an '06 and now an '09) and both sound real close and both make good power. I prefer these two over the others which I think don't look as good. I wouldn't invest in a slip-on for the simple fact that I want to go to 331cc which wil require a larger head pipe. The FSW head pipe is okay, but I prefer a system that was designed all together.

I put the Two Bros. can on last week. You can really notice the difference. The spacer that comes with it wont fit, the bolt isnt long enough. Two Bros.tech support said no re-jetting is needed (WRONG !) Until it is totaly warmed up you twist the throttle and it just bogs. Anyone have any sugestions? I dont care what anyone says, the women all love the Sunbeam Red.
