Default 07 Tail Mod

Just finished removing the rooster tail. I used four L-brackets and two flat brackets. Added two led license plate lights. Almost replaced the stock signal lights with Super LED's but like I said in a previous post, they werent so super.

The license plate doesnt sit centered with the bike, so I choose to offset it to the left. Should I leave it or try to center it? I kind of like it to one side.

if you compress that rear kiss your setup goodbye. ive crushed the plate on the stock setup many times, cant imagine if i had it closer to the tire!

I had those same LED's. They lasted a couple weeks. hahaa

But yeah, that's how I mount my plate. Except instead of the plate being at a 90° to the ground, it's level with the back fender. Sticking down like that it will hit the first time you go off the pavement.

Center it, it's not off to one side enought to look intentional.
I think cuz larry has a great shot of his plate laying in the dirt after his knobbie ate the plate for lunch.
I don't think the BGB gets off road really but if you do, you definitely want more room between the tire and the plate. These suspensions compress all the way to the fenders when they have to.
I never understood why people block their #s in pics. Everybody that sees your bike on the road can see the #, curious as to why people do it???

How did they break? Just from the vibration?

I can and think I will adjust the plate so it is more in line with the fender angle and centered.

I have taken it off road but as you can probably tell by my tires I'm not ripping anything up off road. I just like to putt along and enjoy the scenery.

Thanks for the feedback.

PS Neil if you steal my license plate number, when I get to Perth someday I'm going to take a pic of yours, white out the numbers and add "dngo8urbbe"

Yea with my OCD syndrome, I can't let you have that on there crooked. But seriously, the Dual sport tail light with the built in plate holder is in my opinion the best cosmetic mod for the bike.

You can trim it to just fit the plate, and it gets it up and on the fender all safe and clean.

Here is mine.
