07 kickstand options?
I shortened my stock kickstand when I lowered my 07 and I shortened it too much unfortunately. I want to get another kickstand, but the angle on the stock one sucked anyway. Are there any better kickstands out there from other model bikes I could get instead of a stock replacement? a KLX300 or one from an 09+ 250 for instance?

When I lowered my ZX6r for my wife, I found a really trick little adjustable aluminum kickstand on eBay. It came with the lowering links and it was cheap, light, and has proven to be sturdy enough to pivot-turn the bike on. Perhaps they also have one for the KLX(?). They had a large selection of kits for Kawis

Put a measured shim under each tire... lets say 2 inch tall squares: something like 6"x2"x6" pads for example.
Put the kick stand down and let the bike rest on the kick stand, and from here; put variable shims under the kickstand until you have the desired angle of bike the achieved... lets say the shim under the kickstand measures 3/4 inch at this point, and you are happy with the look.
(at this point leave the bike as is, and calculate your differential between the shims of the tires vs the shim for the kickstand)
Thus it comes out to be the differential for the shims is 1.25 inches. Cut a block at this thickness... lay it on the 3/4 inch block / pad or whatever you use to achieve this "shim" and butt it up to the kickstand (1.25 block perpendicular to bikes line of motion), and strike a line across the kickstand using a marker and the 1.25 inch block as a guide. The 1.25 inch block should allow you to trace a line parallel to the ground were the bike will sit once the kickstand is trimmed and the steel pad for the kickstand is welded back on.
The trickiest part of all this is getting a square pad of the desired thickness for the shim of the kick stand so you will have an ideal surface to lay the 1.25 inch block on for striking your line against the kickstand.
* I just made this method up in my head (literally just as I was sitting here on the couch) so it is probably not the best way, but it would work

I want to pickup a used stand on eBay for a few bucks and not spend a whole lot. Otherwise, I can just go to the local machine shop and have them weld on something, but I was hoping to avoid that trip.
Any interchangeability with other Kawasaki dirt bikes so I can pickup a deal on eBay? Thanks a lot
