Default 07-09 air box lid

Does anyone know if an 07 and 09 KLX250 lids are the same? My dealer says that a 07 KDX 200 snorkle provides the best flow. Kawa part # is 14073-1577

No lid provides the best flow and if you get the water level above the height of the airbox, then you're already in deep ****.

Save yourself some money and run with no snorkel...If you go with removing the airbox lid completely, you'll get quite a lot more intake noise and you'll probably have to increase the main jet size more than if you just run without the snorkel.

+1 Lid on , no snorkel. I didn't like the way mine sounded with no lid.
You could try it with no lid first though, it won't cost you a thing.

Mine seems to sound throaty with the original snorkel, especially when I get on it with the stock exhaust. Hopefully by this coming weekend my Q4, dynojet, kouba screw will be here and I can do the mods. I will probably go with the snorkle since there are plenty of rivers around here to cross, one in particular. Will try and post a picture when I can. We have a cabin on the river that I want to cross and try and explore the other side. Had to put half the bike back together to ride today since I was anticipating tearing it down next weekend but when they were calling for 60+ weather, I sure wasn't going to miss the opportunity to ride today and I must say, it sure was worth it. Thanks for the advise guys, A

If you are worried about the intake noise being too loud, just install a muzzy...LOL

I ran mine without the snorkel and didn't like it because of the noise.

I installed the snorkel I removed from my KDX220 and it sounds much better and still performs nicely

The next question is kdx snorkle pointed forward or backward? mine seems to run the same either way, but I do notice the seat pinches it off more facing forward.

maybe a dumb question, but has anyone simply altered the stock snorkel rather than remove it altogether? by that I mean just snip some of it off but leave the bend at he air box lid? or would it not have any benefit at ll as it would be still to restrictive?
