Default 06 v 07

Will be purchasing a KLXs by the end of the month. Was looking at the 250wr since I had been riding on a ttr with my daugher on her little 50. family member recommended the klx so I could tool around a little on the road as well. Took a ride on an '04 and had a good time, which convinced me to go to the on/off road dirt bike route.

So, two dealers here in Charlotte NC have an '06 (less than a mile) and also another place has an 07.

any major differences between the two?

Any price suggestions to take it off their hands? No idea how negotiating dirt bikes go....

Look forward to learning from this place as well! Already have the initial mods planned!

Thanks!

The 07 has different panel graphics and a white numberplate instead of green, thats it. All said and done after a 2 yr extended warranty I paid around $5700 including tax title and tags. They kinda had me cornered they only ordered 2 for the year and this was the last one left in April 06 when I bought it, next closest dealer was nearly 2 hrs away and I didn't bother checking with them. Might get lucky on the 06 and knock some $$ off the sticker since it is a leftover but goodluck either way.

I paid $5300 OTD. They wanted $6500 when I walked in. Some guys on this forum have bought new ones off eBay dealerships. If you print out a few prices for some brand new offerings you should be able to get a pretty good deal. Don't let them rape you with all the talk of Taxes, Titles and Fees. I live in hawaii, total fees were $400 and they sold the bike at $4900, they still made plenty of money. (I didn't get the extended warranty)

I paid $3660 for a left over new'06 model 4 months ago. The dealer said they actually lost $50 on the deal but were really wanting to unload their excess inventory.

Just note that the bottom has fallen out of the KLX250 market. I've seen new 2007 models being dumped in the $4,000 - $4,400 range (OTD, before taxes and licensing) in every region west of the pacific time zone. 2008 models are on their way. Dealers should be looking to dump 2006 models at any cost.

Shop around. Right now is a great time to be buying.

Bottom or not I would still pay whatever they asked for this bike. Whoops there i go again getting too excited about how much I love the bike. Sorry. They could have asked $8,000 for it and I would have gladly still payed it. I mean come on, its the BOMB!! Uh Oh I used Bomb twice today, I hope big brother isn't watching.[8D]
