Default .018 drill bits??

Does anyone here have a .018 drill bit laying around that they would be kind enough to loan out? I looked online and it appears that the only way to buy them is in bulk. That doesn't make much sense when I will only need 1 bit for about 5 seconds. Not to mention, the bits appear to sell for $.50, but shipping is $7!!

I'm going to be tearing into my carb to install the jet kit as soon as it gets here and would like to get rid of the hard starting due to the too small starter jet while I am in there.

Thanks in advance.

I bought some on ebay. Only cost a couple of bucks for 5 bits, I think.

Do you have a hobby store around? That's where I picked up mine. $2 for 2 bits.

Someone reported mixed results with the ebay bulk ones. Poor tolerances.

How much was shipping?

Also, I don't really need 5 bits- I don't know what I would do with 1 after I use it for 5 seconds. It's not a size I think I would ever use on anything else.

Thanks for the idea though.

I picked one up from Mcmaster for $1.45, shipping is like 5 bucks but I had a few other little things to order at the same time... Mcmaster is quality supplies... You'll know if you getting a good bit if its specified as 77 gage wire (0.018"). Always Mic your bits when it comes to precision like that.

I don't trust ebay... ppl have already bought bad bits from some sellers, and have posted complaints a while back.

What kind of hobby store did you find yours at? I did a search for hobby stores and most of them are a bit far from my house and in areas I don't really have any reason to go to. It might make more sense to just pay shipping and avoid running around.

I don't remember exactly, but it was only a few dollars including shipping for the pack.

Here's an auction for a set of 10 for $4.75 and free shipping. You can't even drive to the store to buy one for less than that!

10 Piece ( #77 Drill Bit ) Twist Drill Wire Gauge | eBay

I measured the bit before I drilled and it was spot-on for size.

Thanks for the link. I just went ahead and bought them. Now I just need to sell the other 4 for a dollar apiece.

I bought some too from a Ebay 10 pack for 11.00 or so, BUT get yourself a Micrometer and measure them. Some were .016, .017, etc. I picked the one closest to .018.
