welp i did it ,yeap, within the first 10minutes of taking the bike off road at my buddies house i took a spill, not to bad,but i bent the handlebars....yea im a total noob when it comes to off-road riding...been on the street for over 6 years,but doesnt help me in the off road department.haha. So my question to you guys is, and yes i use the search religously...i cant find a renthal bar on their site.They dont have our bike on there site or something.But after doing my searches i see everyone has add an aftermarket handlebar that raises up a little higher. well for me i really am not looking for that, im about 5' 10" and 165pds..i like the regular raise of the stock, maybe something a half inch or 1 inch higher would be ok. but im basically looking for a nice has to be BLACK renthal handlebar, can anyone reccomend one more towards the stock style, or one thats pretty close to it.

also i know this has prob been beaten to death. but i cant decide between the full muzzy or full fmf with powerbomb,i might lean towards the fmf,i like the powerbomb,and im a local 40 ironworker so welding a heat shield on it shouldnt bea problem.
Is the muzzy alot louder than fmf?i cant really tell in the videos ive seen. i definetly want a loud exhaust.this thing sounds like a scooter right now.hahaha. still having a blast.

fmf sounds really good. quiet at idle, but really nice when you're moving. any renthal 7/8 bend will work.

 

Don't feel bad about the spill, it's probably going to be the first of many in your offroad career.

I am running black Renthal bars in the CR high bend. They seemed to be about the same height and pull backas the stock bars on the 06-07's. I used them as they were for a year, then for this year I added a bar riser kit that raised them 3/4-1" more.

I would say your best bet would be to go to a dealer that has a bunch of bars on the wall and see what you think. It's really hard to order a set of bars from a catalog even if they have the specs there.

I'm 5'10" ... I got the Moose Raptor Bend bars, I really like em and the Moose bark busters fit like a glove on it to.....but they are a little higher and different than stock.

I own a Muzzy, great tough loud pipe, it can really take a beating.....but if I were buying now I would probably get that power bomb setup.....but then again that muzzy can take a beating and still clean up....hmmm

I just put my cr high bend pro tapers on and I love them. The manufacturer doesn't matter so much, they pretty much all carry a "cr high bend" bar. Renthal, moose pro taper, are all fine. The cr high bend is almost like stock, except the ends are up higher, maybe about an inch higher.

They look longer than stock, but it's kind of deceiving, because when mounted they actually stick out less. I'm cutting mine down to wherever I can and still have room for controls, cause I like enduro trails. They pretty much all come marked so you can just cut and go. I use a chop saw with a cutting disc.

We're pretty much same size, same weight, I'm 5'9" 160ish. The stock bars are down in my lap so to speak, so I pushed these about probably almost an inch forward in the clamp than the stock are. This way, when I'm standing I have way more control because my elbows are atomatically up and I can get my whole chest and back are behind it.

Off road is different than street that way. You have to set your bike up differently; you need to be standing and crouched, not sitting. For me, I get more leverage with the bars forward and the controls parallel with the bars.

Which pipe you want to get is a pretty much a toss up. I have a 300 header from fourstrokeworks.com and an fmf powercore pipe. It's loud. Too loud. Anyway, any aftermarket exhaust is going to accomplish your goal, if it's just to reduce weight and increase air flow.

I wish I could weld; that would be awesome.

 

I've got the Renthal "Jimmy Button" bend. I'm 6'0, and they suit me fine.
Get some Barkbusters (VPS) handguards while you're at it. Cheaper in the long run, trust me.

Do you know if the Barkbuster triple clamp set-up would work with your guards/bars? I have the same clamp set-up as you (on stock bars) and have a problem with the clamps sliding inward when the guard ends gets hit hard, regardless of how tight the clamps are tightened.
