Default $42.50 for a new shift lever!!!

I've bent the ol' shift lever in and out a couple of times on a couple of get off's, so I thought I should look into getting a spare for the day it actually snaps off. I figured the inflated price for a new one would be in the 20-25 dollar range. Looked it up on Bike bandit and it's $42.50!!! WTF! As far as I've read, no one on here has found an aftermarket lever for this bike, or one that fits from another bike. So, be careful of that fifty dollar lever your stomping on to change gears.

$36 Ouch, sounds like you know that from experience. I think I remember that thread. I know OEM stuff is high (for no good reason) but this KLX stuff seems way out of line. I wonder if all the parts add up to the MSRP? BTW I'm not mad, I am surprised. I think it's unreasonable, but hey it's their game. I only posted this to enlighten others.

Well, the bike is in the shop for that right now. I'm going to throw a fit if its not covered under warranty. We shall see.

It would be more like $100 k .... someone should run a xml query and log it in sql....we could bet on it like a football pool.

Back on subject...I need a new shifter too, anyone tried an aftermarket one that fit...I hate going first.

I'm on the boat for a new lever as well. I thought that DualStar had one for the klx. I looked one time on the web site, but I don't think I saw much info on it. Anyone got any info on these/pics?

It going to be off to the dealer for one soon though, I'm on borrowed time with mine right now.

Well the clutch lever was only like 6 bucks from the dealer. I broke mine the day we brought the bike home (stupid noob rider) and we bought TWO since the price was so good.

$6 sounds cheap, I'd have to say they sold them to you at the wrong price. Good idea to buy two at that price.
