Meh... I don't have any complaints about my KLX.
It's a great dual-sport at a great price point (...ruined by the EPA). For a mere $100, it is NOW what I expected it to be when I bought it. All it takes is a re-jet, really, to make it useable.
If you need something faster, KTM makes some nice bikes.

The KLX will never be a "fast" bike, but with the right mods it can be alot more fun than stock.

i have a 2010 zx6-r so i have an idea what fast is like..so I agree that I have no complaints about the klx after a rejet for the little it costs....I would never pay the big bucks for a larger, faster dual sport like ktm, bcuz for a lil more you are in crotch rocket pricing....REAL fast...klx is funnest $4500 Ive ever spent

The first thing I think of when I hear folks going to the big bore kits for the KLX is the missing DR350 from Suzukis line. That continues to be a popular bike, despite no longer being made, and I think the 350cc size is the "right" size for many riders. It seems to offer the right power and weight. Just my opinion.

Yep. Yammi had an XT350 a few years back as well. If you want a 350, either of these would be good choices.
Me... I wanted a 250. I had a choice between the Yammi and the Kawi. Kawi cost a LOT less, and for $100 in mods, it became what it should have been from the factory. Easy as that... I may have opted for the Yammi if my bank account was larger, but $3499 for a brand new DS bike (with 1 year warranty) just cannot be beat anywhere!
