Default "BEFORE" & "AFTER" Testing

As y'all know, I have the parts on order to do "Stage I of the KLX250S" modifications. I'm also planning on doing a photo shoot during it so that we can provide documentation to the folks that are planning on doing similar changes to their respective KLX250S's.

To give you some insight as to the amount of performance changes, aside from "seat of the pants" type of feedback, I'm looking to do some quantitative, as well as subjective testing.

Do y'all have any suggestions for what should be done? I do not have access to a dyno, so that is out. Perhaps some testing like this:

o 1/4 mile elapsed time

o 0 to 60 mph elapsed time

o 50 to 80 mph top gear roll on

o top speed

o fuel mileage

Let me know and I'll see what I can put together.

I have done testing on a section of road with a moderate upgrade.
Mark or use land marks as start and finnish lines about 1/4 mile apart, In high gear cross the start line at 50mph and go WOT. Record your speed as you cross the finnish line.
Make sure you sit upright or tuck the same amount each time.
Also let us know if your results are actual or indicated speed.

Keep in mind the KLX speedo reads 10% high unless you have a SpeedoHealer or SpeedoDRD installed.

I would suggest 1/8 mile instead of 1/4 mile because frankly, the KLX250S is too slow to bother with quarter mile. Heck if somebody has a G-Tech, that'd be ideal. I have one of them someplace... should see if I can't mount it to mine.

Don't get me wrong I love my little KLX but I can save you the trouble:
Stock = slow
Stage 1 mods = still slow

I swear I saw some testing that put the 0-60 around 11 seconds or so

BUT its a fun 11 seconds!

So why did I respond to a post from 2006?
Somethings wrong here, these old posts are showing up under the stickys where the new posts used to be.
Funny how the subject seemed so relevent. I guess we just rehash the same stuff year after year.
