Just wanted to know if anyone out there knows some tricks to getting a little more power out of a 2005 KLR 250. I've only found one exhaust through FMF, is there a jet kit out there for this bike or anything else I can do?

Hey Goodfella, post something in the KLX 250S forum, there are a few guys that have owned or still own those bikes, there is a lot of good information coming from the new KLX forum.

Shim the needle about .040.I have a 125 main jet in mine (1994).I haven't changed the pilot jet as the parts guy told me not to,but I have a wierd just off idle thing going on and sometimes it doesn't want to idle right. So I might go with a little bigger pilot to see what happens.Exhaust is a good one but I've been told that it will do little or nothing with out changing the head pipe too.I haven't tried it though.I bought an FMF Powercore 4 Q for a KX250F on Ebay with the intent to put it on my KLR,but it is a little too long and I'm scared that it will melt my rear fender.I'd have to modify it to make it fit too.I shouldn't have been a cheap *** and got the one that fits my bike.If you know anybody that would like to by it .......it's brand new.
