HELP please, ive just bought a stolen recovered 1985 klr 250
hi everybody im new on here and as it seemed like the bigger forum it made more sense to join this one.
ive bought a stolen recovered 1985 klr 250 , by the looks of it some body has used it to give it stick in a field , its had a hard life and the wiring is all to pot , it needs an ignition barrel aswell, it was bought from a friend so i know part of its history , he has had it running but it stopped working when he had it it was the magneto , so this has been replaced.
there is no spark?????? he said he was told that they get the initial spark from the battery but im allmost possitive this isnt the case????? it does need a new battery without a doubt , and it will need a full and extensive service , it does need a lot of work but my main priority at the moment is getting it started.
i have big plans for the bike and im a painter by trade(cars) so cosmeticaly none of it bothers me and i want to get the old girl back to her former glory.
if anyone could give me any help it would be much appreciated ,or even if anybody knows were i could download a pdf manual or wiring diagram??????
thanks for reading this

Welcome to the forums. I really like the old KLR bikes. I'm looking for a wiring diagram. But I would get to a bike shop and get a clymer book for that bike. You are going to want a full color repair book.

unfortunatly the bike shops near me arnt that good , and i was suprised but ebay doesnt even have much by the way of parts , ive also got 1989 honda xr200r there about as common as rocking horse crap in england aswell lol,i seem to have a knack of buying rare bikes cheap that isnt the problem, the problem is finding the parts haha
