Well, then. I reckon I'll learn what it means soon enough. If I was meant to know...

I managed to mess up the fork lowering job. This is, unfortunately, not uncommon for me. I am the most mechanically inept person you have ever...well, not met. The shop is getting the forks set to their lowest position, but he recommended against cutting coils off the rear shock spring. Because of the shock angle, body, whatever (?) he didn't think it would be worth the time and money. So, we'll see how it goes w/the front end lowered. I already have the short seat mounted. Hopefully, that'll get us where we need to go, height-wise. Then I'll check it out for stability and handling issues.

Out of interest, what exactly confused you from the earlier entry? I tend to ramble and think/type too fast, but you gotta' keep up. We have much to do, man!

Really? I was told that would hone the cylinder and increase power. No?

Ok, enough of that...

It would also be a great way to port and polish the intake, and the exhaust ports once the sand got blown through!

I'm not handy, but I'm not stupid. Well, not that stupid...

Dropping the forks worked great. We dropped it two inches. It made the bike feel very different. I haven't finished the exhaustive check, yet, but I saw/felt no stability problems. It made the bike feel smaller, more nimble, and more focused. It definitely sported it up. I wasn't expecting that big of a change to tell you the truth. I wasn't even thinking about dropping it for sporting reasons. It was just for my wife's footing. It was very cool. Now, to see if she likes it.
