Problems viewing KF using Safari on MacOS X
Recently, in the past several weeks, I've been experiencing web browser crashes using Safari on MacOS X when viewing the KF site. It only started about two or maybe three weeks ago, and Safari never crashes on other web sites, only KF. I've tried Firefox also, and it also crashes, but only on KF, never any other web sites. The rendering is perfect, so there is no issues of cosmetics or anything like that. Every so often, the browser just crashes - usually when pressing a "reply" button on a thread, but not limited to that. Sometimes it happens as the thread is being drawn but is not yet complete.
Any ideas as to what might be causing these browsers to crash on MacOS X? I'd really hate to be shut out of the KF family ...

RE: Problems viewing KF using Safari on MacOS X
I don't have a Mac, but I have always had problems posting messages. I hit the post button, and the page stalls forever. The message won't post for almost 4-5 minutes sometimes. But if I hit the reload button on the browser when this happens, the page reloads, then I can click the OK button to post and it goes right through.
Anyway, back to your problem.
Why don't you try a different browser, like firefox, or Opera? Macs can run those right?

I have tried Firefox with the same result. Actually Firefox generally crashes faster than Safari. Both Firefox and Safari are the latest available. I'll see if I can get a copy of Opera.

RE: Problems viewing KF using Safari on MacOS X
Shortly after I posted my complaint, my iTunes library got corrupted and my system locked up - so the weirdness was no longer limited to browsing KF. Sounds like a hardware problem to me - I'm suspecting a bad memory stick. Thank goodness for backups. I swapped out memory one pair of dimms at a time until I think I isolated the bad pair. I've had those two pulled for a number of hours now with no more crashing or other issues. I'm not quite ready to call it fixed, but I've not had any crashes since then, so I think at least one of the pair is bad and is what has probably been causing my problem.
Of course, as soon as I say that, it'll crash again ... I hope not.

Interesting because all of the newest comercials between Mac's and Winblows say that Mac's are compatible with everything. Makes you wonder now huh? LOL Hope you get it fixed NoBrakes.
