Have a 2002 kawi 1500 classis w/carb. Bike has 31,000mi. Runs good and well kept. Had a rattle in the engine. Added cam chain tention extenders to auto adjuster. Noise seemed to lessen some, but not all. Put a couple hundred miles on bike. Stopped at home 1 day and had a hard rattle in right side front crankcase area. Bikes performence is still okay, starts and runs good.
No smoking or oil loss. Any ideas where to start to eliminate noise?

I am not familiar with the vulcan except on what I see in the parts fiche. So you replaced both CCT parts? Any other additions such as a different oil or that kind of thing?

 

Kawi's recomended oil & filter changed around 3 / 4000 mi.

 

so....we are not sure on what oil was used then?
