Hey guys, I have a 2005 kx250f that I bought with a bad head. The old owner was out on the track and the bike locked up on him, I tore it down and found that the intake cam had locked up and cracked the cam caps and bent valves... No fun. Long story short I bought a donor bike 2004 Rmz250 same exact motor as Kxf. I re-shimed the valves to spec and dropped the new motor in the Kxf. I couldnt start the bike with the original Kxf carb set the way it was so I messed with the idler and the jet that sticks out from the bottom of the float bowl. I got it running but it will only idle. As soon as I give it gas it dies. If the choke is on it will fire but won't idle. Only way to get it to idle is with the choke off. I also took the carb off of the donor bike wich was originally matched up to the motor in now and it supposedly ran before but that carb does the exact same thing as the orriginal Kxf carb won't idle properly with choke on and dies as soon as I give it throttle with choke off. I asked around and a few buddies of mine told me to drop a new spark plug In but it made no difference. The bike is completely clean no tears in the intake manifold... Nothing obvious that I can see... Very frustrating. Any ideas?
