Default i just got a KX100 with a blown gear case. need help!

i fully taken apart the engine. alot of things are screwed over. gears are broken, a chunk of the case is missing, some bolts and little parts are broken. and the dumb thing is that this is the first time i have fully taken apart any engine. i plan on getting parts from Ebay or something. i need a service manual to put it back together. anyone know where i can download a service manual online? i downloaded one for my raptor. now i need one for my KX.

We have a list of links to manuals posted somewhere, but I dont have one. sounds like you will be better off with a new engine, or at least rebuilding a different one and use that one for parts, god knows what happened to it with all that metal swiming inside it. Good luck on the rebuild, got any pics?

Oh yeah, welcome to KF!!

Welcome to KF.

As mentioned above, sometimes it is cheaper to obtain another engine with no damage than to try and repair what you have. good luck

check out the manual section in the general discussion topic area for the possible manual downloads.

Default ok...

i have no clue how to put pics... just seeing if this will work. anyways that might work. no one else here where i live (alaska) has another engine... gonna have to pay millions just to get another one shipped here. i think i'll just have to get one from Ebay. good used one.

If you have the broken piece of the case, it may not be a total loss. Can you get the broken piece welded or otherwise (JB Weld, etc; it's not a "stressed" part) back into it's proper place securely; at least for awhile? This might buy you some time to get a suitable replacement. As for the clutch bolt, it's not a HUGE deal to have all the bolts, assuming the clutch still actuates. (Although it IS preferable.) I'm not so sure you couldn't at least get it running again; maybe not 100% as it should be.
It didn't look like a total scrap-out to me. I wouldn't enter any motocross races, but it is "fixable" enough to run.
Welcome to the forums.

you will need to verify the condition of the other components of course. I was visualizing trashed piston, rod, crank, gears and case.

im positive i can get it fired up. the pistons is kinda junk though. it was running good. i just dont think i can get it moving. i think 3rd gear is broken. idk... one of the gears broke, led to shredding all the other gears. plus, when i pulled the inner cases apart, some parts just fell out. dont have a clue where they are supposed to go. i think i just want to get a new bottom end.

Your favorite parts fiche is your friend as well as your manual. I may be able to help with some of the manual info.
