RE: Just Finished KFX400!!!
Alright..........for anyone that doesn't know, my motor grenaded on me after 3 hours.
Looks like what happened is the steel sleeve was put in wrong and when the cylinder heated up, the aluminum cylinder expanded faster than the steel sleeve, then the sleeve slipped in the cylinder and hit the rod coming around, tearing all hell out of my motor.... [:@]
Anyways, here's a few pics of the day... (before, during and after the carnage) and about a 10 second clip of the only video I have of the darned thing.... enjoy.

Yeah it definetly will be. If I had to do it over again I would've started with the Yoshi 450 stroker. They make a firm claim of 55HP at the wheels. With less than 400lbs to push, it should make me smile despite all the trouble I've had....

55 hp at the rear wheels.... wow!! My buddies that we talked about before is like 32 hp.... That should bring a smile too ya.. How long before you can get the motor? Are you going to repolish it??

RE: Just Finished KFX400!!!
I've already bought a stock bore cylinder from a buddy for $75. (needed to replace my trashed one)
I WILL polish it up SOME before I send it off to yoshimura.
I will most likely send off the motor around the beginning of June. I'm still gathering up some cash. I spent all of my budget on the first motor, so I can't just send it off without having at least 75% of the final cost. I'm also hoping that my bottom end isn't a complete lost. The guys at Yosh will do a complete rebuild and replace anything that does not measure up to their specs. Hopefully mine isn't as bad as I think it is.
Also, I'm hoping for a quick return as we are now in the middle of the season and most people would have their motor built in the winter. Soo......maybe the middle / end of July if I'm lucky... []
