The problem with the motor is it has a very rough casting surface on the head, cylinder, and the main case. I had to start with 150 grit, then 220, then 400, then I wet sanded with 600 and finally polish with 2 different compounds! It sucks because there are so many small spaces, that I basically have to do most of it by hand. I have a dremel and several other tools, but they can't get everywhere!!

That's some serious work on those engine pieces. No easy way to go about it... Keep those pics coming

Well, as you might have guessed, I'M STILL FREAKIN POLISHING!!!

But......I'm making headway. I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish it doing "not the best" job, I'm bored with this and want to get it running!

Here's some updated pictures. The two side covers are almost done. There has been LOTS of sanding on the motor and still alot more to go, but it's getting there.

You can't say it enough times. That's some serious hard work. It's looking good and definately a one of a kind. Once you get her together, we need some pics. And definately pics of this thing in action!! It looks like whatever polishing compound you are using is doing a heck of a job... I'm sure elbow grease has sometthing to do with it to, right!!!

It really does take ALOT of work to polish something of this magnitude!! Honestly, If I had to do it over again, there is no way in hell I would even think about it!!

Thanks for the comments, the moral support keeps me going!

And as soon as I get the bike together, I will definetly post some video! I am actually planning a family trip to Busco Beach, NC in April so plan on having a buttload of video and pictures from that trip.. Hopefully I can score a helmet cam by then.
