Welcome!
Your quad does not have a problem. It is doing what it is designed to do, igniter hitting the rev-litmiter when trying to go reverse fast. It is a builit-in safety feature. You are not supposed to give too much gas when in reverse. Ride safely and have fun!

Here's some more tech info:
Your 750 puts out max hp (around 50+) at 6500 rpm in FORWARD gears. However, when you shift into reverse, the igniter reduces its rev limit to only 3000 rpm and you can go only slow, maybe less than 10 mph. There is a way to defeat this safety feature and some guys do that. And they are the ones who are likley to run into their own pick up truck or someone else causing troubles for everyone.
The 750 has a very strong motor but it's got own share of weakenesses as any other machines would. One thing pops into my mind is the air box/filter. Keep it clean and tight. Make sure no dirt/water gets in there. Another weakness is the front suspension parts - they are rather fragile. Some folks think their quads are like tank or caterpillar, ram into big objects. Then, they get pissed when the quad breaks. Some even think their quads are submarine, trying to cross deep water. Then water gets inside engine and then there comes a $3000 repair, and expect the dealer would cover under the warranty which never happens. I've had my 750 for 2+ years with 100+ hours and never broke anything. If you take care of your quad, the quad will defitnitely take care of you by giving you many years of trouble-free ride. Good Luck.

I'm from canada, and my '06 750 has an overide switch that stops this from happening. You have to hold it in but it does let me go as fast as I WANT to go in reverse.

All recent Kawi's V-twin quads have this reverse over-ride feature which shoud be used with a caution. It's original intention is to enable you to back out of stuck condition when forward is not possible, not to test how fast you can go in reverse. Going reverse fast can hurt you and/or others around you.
