quarts of oil? help

Default quarts of oil? help

hi this is my first post here i just picked up a 1988 bayou 220cc w/ electric start and the p/o told me 2 quarts is what he put in the engine every oil change? but when its running i don't the little eye filled up like it is when cold, or not running, i just want to know if i have enough oil in this thing, someone please help me out...thank you

welcome to KF check the sight glass with the motor off and cold on level surface.

And when you check the manual for the capacity, don't forget that "liters" is not "quarts!!" Don't be tempted to empty the bottle just because "it's close enough." Put in the correct amount. If you add too much, you'll get equally nasty results just as if you added too little. The proper amount should be about 1/3 to halfway up on the sight glass.
