STX-12F won't accelerate
I have a 2003 STX-12F that has been on the lift since September '05 due to low lake level. It had 3/4 tank gas that I added Sta-Bil to during the winter to help preserve it. We finally got it off the lift on Saturday and it cranked right up. It ran rough till we ran that gas tank out and put in new. Then it ran pretty good. On Monday we ran it again, but it would only get up to about 15-16 mph! I trailered it and looked to see if there was anything in the intake but didn't see anything thing. The oil level seems low but the light didn't come on. Any ideas?? HELP!

When you put the Sta Bil in, did you run her for a bit, to get the stabil down into the injectors, etc?? It sounds like a gummed up line, or filter, or injector.... You ,might also double check your plugs....

I did run the motor with the Sta-Bil in it.
Here's an update:
SUCCESS!!!
I worked on the jet ski this weekend and great news: It is running better than ever!
I changed the spark plugs and changed the oil and oil filter. They both cranked right up on the driveway. Took them out and both ran better than when they were new! The one that was lacking acceleration is running like a charm.
FYI.....I originally purchased the spark plugs and oil filters at a local watercraft/motorcycle dealer. The spark plugs were NGC and ran $8.99 each! The oil filters were Kawasaki and ran $11.99 each! I had to run by the auto parts store to get a oil filter tool and got to talking to the guy there. He priced the spark plugs and filter on their system. Are you ready for this? Their price on the NGC spark plugs was $5.49 each!! And he matched up a FRAM filter for $5.49 each!! And yes....we took back the more expensive ones!
So....thanks for all the advice! I'm heading out today to do some riding!

Good job man...Glad you got her fixed. Plugs can make a huge difference, and it is always an area that is overlooked. Nice info on plugs and filter pricing. That is a big price difference on the NGK's and the filter.
Have fun!!

Fram filter worries me after reading so many bad articles/reviews from magazines who did extensive filter comparison tests. I don't know how much you paid for your ski, but don't cheap out on something as important as oil filter or oil iteself which you don't replace too often, not like on cars. If you have to save a few $, see if NAPA or WIC has matching filter for your ski. They received really good rating as I remember.
