Default STX 12F Leaks?

Hello, I have a 2003 Stx 12F, owned since new. This spring I serviced it and put it in the water, took a short rip around the lake to make sure it ran OK. I tied it up to the dock as usual, because of the rain and cold it sat for about 2 weeks. When I happened to go out to check on it, I noticed it was making its way to the bottom of the lake, when I removed the seat, it had lake water in the hull nearly up to the injectors. I pulled it out of the water and let it sit on the trailer for a day or so and no water leaked out of the hull. I finally realized it had drain plugs and drained the hull.

Where should I look for a leak? I thought perhaps a shaft seal or hose clamp, but water did not even seep out when it was up on the trailer. Do I have to worry about a body seam? I would appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks

Default RE: STX 12F Leaks?

welcome to KF. i asked my neighbor last night he's a jet ski nut. He has a STX and he said it's probaly the seems that leaked. They did on his one day, there was three people sitting on it not moving and a couple hours later it was half way under water too. as far as fixing it there aint much you can do to the seems. But he did say if the water was that high in the engine bay then you might want to take the sparkplugs out and crank the motor for a minute before you try to start it.
