Default Carb reed problem?

Any one had a reed go bad?

If so, how did the jetski perform, what were the noticable indicators?

Can I just pull the reed out and look it over? What am I looking for?

Mine is 15 years old, never messed with it.

Take off the flame arrester cover and screes. start the ski and hold a sheet of white paper over the carbs about 1in above rev the motor if you see alot of fuel on the paper the reed is more than likely leaking. pull carbs and reed plate verry easy to do all you are out is gaskets if they are good. they should snap closed and hold some preshure on a small fealer gauge (.025") hope this helps

Thanks. I took the entire unit off, cleaned it real good, got new gaskets, replaced it, and it works.
