Quick question regarding the proper or best engine oil to use on a pair of 1997 Kawasaki's (1100stx/900zxi).
I am thinking of using the Amsoil for PWC (HP Injector) vs the Kawasaki "blue" oil in these machines. I believe the previous owner used Pennzoil Premium oil for 2 stroke engines (not sure on price). The kawasaki 1-gal is about $22 in my area (Los Angeles). I am trying to help reduce the outburst of smoke from these engines and also save on consumption.

Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated and previous experiences.
Also, would it be OK to mix the oils from different brands or wait until its almost used up and then pour some new brand?

They're a lot of Good Members Here and they will do there Best to Help You out with Your Questions. Sometimes It Takes A Little Longer Then Others. So, hang-in there.

 

Never mix the two brands of pre mix oil. I have found that every bike/engine is different and preferrs a mix to your tuning. (40:1 in the yamis, 32-35:1 in the hondas and kawis) I liked yamalube in all of my mixed bikes and amsoil in my ninjas. Keep us up to date on what you have tried.

I've been using Amsoil full synthetic in my 2006 KLX and my 1999 Dodge Diesel for 3 years. I think its good stuff.
