2007 STX-12F - 45hours total
Hi all im new help looking for some help:
I just sold my 12f with 45hrs on it to a buddy, we have not had it out in 2.5 years and just needed to get rid of it.. i put new fuelpump, battery and plugs in it. it starts and runs good when on the trailer it'll rev up to 7k, as soon as he gets it in the water it wont go over 3k rpms and only runs about 10-15mph...
any ideas on what could be wrong?
We pulled the plugs and 1&4 look like they have some carbon buildup already (these plugs have only been in there about 3 weeks) 2&3 look brand new still
i know it was smoking alot when we first got it running again but since has been fine. like i said runs great and sounds perfect on the trailer but hit the water and it boggs down..

So the solution was the ski had been sitting for a LONG time and two of the fuel injectors were clogged that's why it would run on the trailer (no resistance) 2 cyl. will keep it running but in water with the added resistance it just chokes. pull your fuel rail off (two bolts) and make sure all your injectors are firing properly as you turn over the motor. We eneded up replacing two and now shes running like a champ!
