1994 750 xi, one click then nothing.... :(
Hello all! I have the above mentioned jet ski. Was on the lake, riding just fine. About an hour into into we turned it off, went back to it a few minutes later. Tried to start it and the engine will not turn over.
We depressed the start button and we hear one click then nothing. Thought it might be the battery but it is charged.
Could it be the electric ignition? Starter maybe?
Any help on how to troubleshoot would be great. I'm familiar with bike engines at this seems simular, a point in the right direction would be great!!
Thanks!!!

Same problem - need help
My 1992 650TS does the same thing. Battery replaced, all connections sound.
If I fiddle enough with the positive connection on the starter, it will turnover very strongly and start easily, someimes for many consecutive tries. Eventually, just a click from the relay in the black box.
Have you recieved any good replies or found a solution? Is it the starter or perhaps the relay?

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed in this forum... No one ever responded... However, I do have an answer for you....
I unhooked the battery, took out the starter and replaced it. It would turnover on occasion but by a process of elimination I found that I was getting power all the way to the starter.
I took the starter out, directly connected it to my battery an nothing happened. I ordered a new starter and took my old one to a rebuild place.
They told me that one of the posts inside the starter had snepped in two. $60 to fix. My brand new starter cost $100. Needless to say, the new starter is installed and the old one is in the trash.
Sounds like you may have the same issue. All in all... Once I got started and ending with the replacement starter it took about three hours to repair not counting the overnight delivery of the starter.... That also counts the troubleshooting time. Without that, about an hour to replace the starter if your savvy to the engine.
I hope this helps....
