Just bought a really shabby looking 1982 model, firing on 3 sylinders, worn out brakes, worn out tyres - pretty much junk.

BUT - i thought it would be perfect as something to build on. And in terms of building... anyone know what engine would fit on this frame ?
I got no problem refurbishing the original engine - but since i want to change the appearance - i would also love to put a more high revving engine in there .


Top picture is the original bike - the two others evolutions of something i have in mind.
Any thoughts and ideas most welcome

Also i would love for more meaty forks so if there are some i could use ...

i've read up a lot more about the model since i posted my question, and i have also noticed its in better condition than what i first believed. so i will try to make it in superb running condition first - then i will chop the tail section off and modify the saddle and frame. Id also love to swap the fork with something more massive - but havent had the chance to check what would actually fit. Will also have to see what needs to be done to fit a wider back rim/wheel.

if people have modified or have some info - feel free to fill in

I am slowly tweaking/semi-customizing an 82 kz750r1.
Cafe'-rat. New to working on bikes but..learning alot. the engine is strong so keeping it stock....
: added clip ons- rebuilding the petcock(parts on order)-installed a custom headlight bracket..cleaned fuel tank ( the petina of rust is cool to me..but not inside a fuel tank).....plus my heap needs some brake work...also..looking for a seat pan so I can custom shape the seat foam .... might change tail and signal lights to led's..alot more ideas on the way.....all in the research... man...![sm=pcwhack.gif]
