Any help appreciated on repairing the backlight for tachometer for my1981 KZ750 by Vetter.

Speedo is fine. Green backlight. None for tach.

Just bought bike so not sure how to start diagnosis.

Can the tach be repaired? Is it a bulb or LED? Diagrams, instructions appreciated.

Spin 003: I've got an 82 KZ with the same similar problem. My tach does not light either. It's also very sluggish when the weather gets cool. I can see the wires going in to two bulbs but, can't seem to pull the bulbs out so I can oil it. I recieved the same number of answers you did....hawken...

 

Spin, I don't think LED's were around in '81. Al Gore invented them after he did the internet....
