zx9r starting problems

yes in the last couple of weeks when i started it up ( just to warm it up while i wasnt using it) it has back fire a few times.could the cam wine be the slight scraping sound tha i can hear?
it has a light scraping like sound as it turns over. it has 60thou kms.
i uncoupled the fuel pump hose, then turn the motor over ander it seem very week didnt really pulse out very well at all. so gona take to a sparky to test tomorrow.
the pump had a mitsibishi symbol on the plastic cover over the wire end, is this the correct one for my bike.
i tested the leads wth a lead tester tonight and they seem very week.
i might take both coils out aswell to test them also what voltage are they meant to be at?

Guessing you're speaking of the brain box on the rear fender? If faulty, it will make your life miserable. 2nd hand electronic stuff is always a crap-shoot, but I'd probably try that first (from a cost perspective.) A new one would likely be ridiculously expensive. And, stay with the factory unit; aftermarket "programmable" ones can give you problems. I'm guessing a used one would run $50-100.
