ZX6R 1999 starting issues.
hey everyone... im new here, but thought id kick off with a question about my new bike.
seems it only really wants to start when its cold. onceits warmed up, and turned off, it wont start again until its cooled down.
checked the sparks, oil, filters (oil, and air) replaced the fuel pump, and coils, and generally checked out the entire bike... no idea what it could possibly be.
it should be noted that apart from that issue, the bike runs perfectly from cold, and right up until i turn it off, warm... so its not an obvious fault.
anyone have any idea's?

These can be extremely tough to figure out. I would think it's something ignition related that has heat-cycled itself to death and is on its way out (permanently).
I had an ignition problem w/ a car last summer that sucked. Car would start up and drive just fine until it got good and heat-soaked then it would pop the ignition fuse. Tried replacing the fuse, but as long as the car was hot it would continually pop the fuses. After combing through the electrical schematics for a week I changed out the ignition control module and all was well.

Does it keep running when warm or it just doesn't want to start when warm? Try using starting fluid after it warms up to see if it is a fuel or ignition problem. If it start with the Ether, it's most likelynot you ignition (however a weak spark will ignite with the starting fluid/ ether). It could be you cold start/ choke system. Try starting it with the choke on when warm.

I'd say pilot is too rich.I've learned to lean more towards carb problems before electrical alot.. Carb problems are usually less expensive to check/repair as well. I've learned this the hard way.. replacing things I didn't need to.
