zx-9r blowing fuses
Hello,I got a 2000 kawi zx-9r. Today I was riding and the bike just died, so pulled over checked the fuses, the Ignition fuse was blown, replaced it and instantly blew. So I trailered it home, took it apart and looked for a wire that was possibly shorting out, I couldn't find one. But now that the bike had a chance to sit without running for a while I can put a fuse in, the bike will start and I could ride it for about 10 minutes, then the fuse will blow. So basically if the bike is warm the fuse doesn't stand a chance, if the bike is cold it lasts for a little bit. I've been reading articles and it sounds like to me it may be the regulator/ rectifier, but I'm not sure, I hate to be buy another one and it not be it. ANYBODY have this problem or know what it may be?

RE: zx-9r blowing fuses
it sound like the ignition box is shorting out..
let the bike cool and replace the fuse.. then run the bike and keep you hand on the ignition box.. if it heat up.. thats probably your prob. if you replace it and it doest fix the prob. just return the part. and go the another dealer for the next part

I'm not sure on you bike but check your owners manual it may tell you there...
the best thing you could do if you want to work on your bike is to get a factory service manual...
