Z650 carbs

Hola Zbike,
Put the electronic unit on but having trouble finding someone with a timing gun and the spark looks disappointingly weak. Runs better but still not as smoothas it should be, could be the timing.
Still doesn't start after standing all night, doesn't seem to pull petrol through, I have to remove an air filter and put my hand over it whilst spinning the engine over and then it fires. After that it starts o.k. but after an hour or two, back to the same procedure. Where am I losing the petrol overnight, everything, exhausts, carbs are tight.
Do these engines require a turn on the idle screw first thing to help starting as I seem to be constantly backing the throttle off when the bike is running?
Any ideas?

Hola Dragone#19,
I can't really figure out how the choke works. There's a lever on the side which operates on all four carbs lifting four plungers. The only way I can get any reaction is to pull the lever fully up, this is the extreme cold start position, and the engine revs at about 4-5 thousand revs, any other position produces no reaction from the engine, no change in engine revs up or down. If I let the lever go the engine cuts out so I have to turn the throttle stop up and then gradually back it off as the engine warms up.
