Wiring a klx 300 headlight for high/low beam
Hi, I am wondering if I can wire my stock headlight for high and low beam, if I have a switch. Can I just get a different bulb? Thanks!
Also if I have the switch is it easy to wire in a horn? thanks!

RE: Wiring a klx 300 headlight for high/low beam
I just dual sported my 02 KLX300R myself with a battery and the whole works and it was not a big deal. My bike came from the factory with a dual filament bulb and socket. If yours is the same it shouldn't be a big deal for you to do what you've described. Only one of the terminals on the socket has a wire coming off of it so just solder onto the second unused terminal for a "high" beam wire. This will power up the second filament for your high beam. If you're high low switch is a simple two wire just tap onto the factory headlight hot wire that's already in the socket and connect this to one of the switch wires. Connect the second switch wire to the wire you soldered on and presto. A horn should'nt be a big deal either. I bought one on line for like eight bucks. You should be able to just come off of your headlight wiring. Tap into the ground of your headlight and connect this wire to one of the terminals on the horn. Tap into the same factory hot wire you ran to your high low switch and connect to one side of your horn switch. Connect the second switch wire to the horns second terminal and your done. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
