Winterizing

Winterizing
I know for some of us it seems way to early to think about winterizing our bikes. I am hoping for a few more nice days here. I have a question for some of the more veteran riders out there or maybe not so veteran riders regarding the battery. Is it better to leave the battery connected or disconnected if you do not have a trickle charger for the battery when the bike is in storage?

RE: Winterizing
Some people drain their fuel tanks because the gas will go bad, while other keep the tank full with additive to keep any rusting of the tank innards away. I am not too concerned about rusting in my locale, so I drain mine.

Battery Tender makes a charger that shuts off automatically when the battery is charged and switches to maintain/float so you do not have to constantly check on the battery.

RE: Winterizing
Sweet Thanks. i am waiting on some gloves for the colder days. Hopefully I will not have to store it to long. I am torn though. I want to save gas and take the bike but don't want the hands to go numb and lose feeling or not be able to pull in the brake or clutch. [sm=headbang.gif]
