Hi all,

I seem to be getting alot of tyre wear on just one side of my tyre. The tread blocks have had the edges taken off. I am running 36 in the front at the moment. I have been near the edge on my favorite bit of road and roundabout but nothing to major, not too fast. What could cause this apart from me pushing the tyre too much. Lastly does anyone know what the symptoms of seized brake piston are?

The front or back tire? If it's the front, your fork tubes are likely not straight. If the back, I would guess maybe the rear control arm bushings are bad, or the rear tire isn't aligned properly on the swing arm. Most bikes have measuring notches where the rear axle mounts on the swing arm. Check to see if both sides are lined up correctly.

If you have a seized caliper, your bike would just feel like the brake is constantly applied. I would raise the bike on which ever end the wheel caliper is in question and turn the wheel by hand. If it stops suddenly, or sooner than expected, it's probable the caliper. Note that the rear isn't gonna turn quite as easily because of the drive chain being linked to the transmission.
