Vulcan Classic 1500/ Cobra FI200/ Settings
I am new here as of today.
I recently bought a 2005 Vulcan Classic 1500 wth 8K miles. I love the bike. It had Vance and Hines pipes when I bought it. I noticed a little deceleration pop when I test rode the bike and it didn't seem to accelerate as quickly as I thought it should. I did notice it had a Cobra FI2000 fule control mod set to 1-1-0.
Yesterday I installed a set of Road Burner Double Eagle pipes and I like the look and the sound of them. Perhaps a bit more poping and backfire. I have been tweeking the Cobra FI2000 to try and smooth the acceleration and backfire. I called Cobra - Their solution is to set it low and keep experimenting. Today i'm going to set it at 1 -.5 - 0. I can't go much lower than that and I have already tried setting them at higher settings. In fact no setting seems to make much differrence.
I did the Cobra function diagnostic test and the unit I have passed their test.
Does any have any experience with the Cobra FI2000? Does it even work? Am I going to damage my bike? Do I need to tweek the air intake?
I am putting mone back for a more advanced fuel mod. but that will take about a month. I would really like to get the Cobra FI adjusted in to a better operating range.
