lol lol...Ya, that twist style tensioner sux!!

Before you rotated motor, you had both guides, and tensioner installed, right?

So, the exhaust cam and the crank lined back up perfect then....Nice. I'm not sure what you are doing. It's like a golfer with a hook!! lol... Try it one more time. If it still does the same thing, then move the intake cam back a tooth. So purposely back it off a tooth out of time. Then rotate the motor, and it should line up!!

The best I can figure is, you are not getting the slack out of the chain before you are rotating the motor, if the slack is on the tensioner side, then the tensioner should take the slack out. Which way are you rotating motor? Clock wise?

Maybe after you have it lined back up and everything re installed, rotate the motor back and forth maybe 5 degrees or so in each direction. Then maybe the tensioner will pop loose, and take that slack up, before you rotate motor...

I know this tho'...by the time you are done with that thing, you will be an expert!! Next time you re adjust valves, you can do it in like 15 minutes....

Once that baby is lined up after rotating the motor, it will stay lined up...So if you can get that first rotation lined in, then you are golden!!

Thanks for the support again and I will get it. Last time there was a little slake between the 2 cam sprokets, I realize that there can be no slack except where the can drops down off the intake side where the tensioner is.

[:'(] Tensioner, it sucks, the one on my zx7 is a piece of cake just no clearance.

Later.

Sorry guys for my lack of presence. But yes, I use an indicator. I do not trust just "marks" in where I am located. Sounds like we have more progress happening. Cool.
