stuck float on ex500
new carb kits
but the same carb that was sticking earlier (right side) is sticking again
needle seat seems to look ok
the float isn't absorbing gas as far as i can tell
most logical explanation?

RE: stuck float on ex500
Hi,
I would look at the float valve for any nicks or dents and clean the float valve's and seat. Using a tooth brush and parts cleaner or something, I've also used a q-tip for the valve seat. I would also look at the float holding up to light to see if there's any fuel in it. That's if you can see through it, or you could compare the weight of it to the other floats in your carbs.
Then before you put it back together "blow" it out with an air hose.
You should either do it before you put the float back on, high pressure can damage the float.
Then work the float a little to see if it still is sticking.
I would also make sure that the Jet Needle is straight and that the diaphram is operating correctly and in good condition.
